Reunion
Milestone Class Reunions
Class Reunions 2020
Reunions
As the NUI Galway campus has been closed since 12 March due to restrictions put in place by Government in response to the COVID-19 health emergency, Class Reunions for 2020 will not go ahead this year. For this reason, we have not progressed or taken payment for these events with the priority of the University being the health, safety and wellbeing of our alumni, students and staff at this time. We hope we can welcome you back on campus in 2021, as we celebrate 175 years of NUI Galway safely and healthily together.
In the meantime, if there is anything you need to know or any contact you need to have with the University, please let us know by emailing alumni@nuigalway.ie and we look forward to meeting you on campus in 2021.
Letter from the President of NUI Galway, An tOllamh Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh.
As President of NUI Galway and a fellow graduate of the University, I regret that we are unable to invite the Classes of 1970, 1980, 1990 or 2000 back on campus this year for the milestone celebration of their graduation.
While we have socially distanced, I hope we are not distant from each other and as graduates of NUI Galway or UCG as it was then, we can be very proud of the work that has been achieved in the University and especially now as we deal with the crisis that is COVID-19.
We cherish the time you spent with us as a student and hope that as a graduate you feel part of our university community. We hope to welcome you back on campus in 2021 as we celebrate 175 years of NUI Galway. We look forward to celebrating this milestone safely and healthily together and also that we can celebrate it proudly together.
If there is anything you need to know or any contact you need to have with the University, please let us know by emailing Catherine Conroy, Associate Director – Alumni Relations at alumni@nuigalway.ie
As a University, we stand on your shoulders. We look forward to working with you in developing NUI Galway for future generations while at the same time looking to the past; to the men and women like you who created this University and made it what it is today.
Le dea-ghuí agus buíochas,
Ciarán
